Basketball :)

Bouncing the ball. Running and running. Catch! We quickly sat down. It was a hot Tuesday morning. 


 “Make sure you bounce the ball at the height of your hips” said our Coach Bruce. Again we had another go. Off I went! Running and bouncing the ball. Around the cone and back. Down we sat.


 It was time for a new activity. We were in the same groups. Each group was given a coloured cone. The whistle went. Bouncing the ball the ball Phoenix went . He flipped the cone that was the same colour as ours. Running back he gave the ball to saane. Sadly we didn’t win. But it was still fun.


 It was time for the next activity. “GO“ said coach Bruce. Running on the white line. Running to the hoop. GOAL! Running to the hoop. She shot, she missed, try again! we yelled. Sadly she missed. The game continued. The game was over. “WE WON WE WON” my team yelled. Sadly our lesson was over. We thanked our instructors and walked back to class. Our first lesson was fun. Learning how to dribble. Also having a experienced coach teach us was exciting as well. I can’t wait for next week.

Ginetta’s adventures in The Matchbox happen between 1937 and 1945. During this time a man named Benito Mussolini ruled Italy. In 1936, Italy, Germany and Japan banded together to support each other as they tried to take over the world. This was the start of World War II in 1939. Although 6 countries from all over the world tried to stop them, the war lasted for 6 years.

Retreat

Down the driveway we drove. Sitting in the front seat. I couldn’t sit still. I just couldn’t wait. Listening to the music. I was getting impatient . Come on , come on I repeated in my head. It was a exciting Morning .

“We are here” said Mrs Tui . She parks the car. I quickly jump out like a flea. I grab my bag . We were greeted by Brother Philip Taking their shoes off at the door everyone made their way into the meeting room.

We then rushed to see our rooms and our neighbours.

The day continued with a activity Noahs ark. My partner was Ofa. We received a Paper bag each . They had different materials in it. We had to make a boat. After the boat making it was time to move to the back. A rock per each person to place on their boat. Unfortunately we weren't one of the winners

The day continued. We played more activities. It was FINALLY time to rest . After our last activity it was time to shower. Dinner time !

Getting up at 7:45. Brushing our teeth and combing our hair. It was time for breakfast . Yogurt , weet-bix , juice , toast e.t.c . I sat with the same group of people.

Our next activity was stations of the cross . My stations was 1, 2 ,3 .

After lunch it was now time to act out the stations of the cross . Everyone did great.
Sadly it was time to go. We all said thank you to brother Philip. Off we went in our rides. Back to school .

My two days at St Francis retreat this is what a learnt .To be a leader I have to be Honest , trustworthy , faithful , committed . I have to be committed in my learning, committed in groups I belong to. I also need to make the right choices . Another key of being a leader is being helpful. Helping teachers when they asked and pupils who need help.

My new soul friend

I would like to introduce to you my soul friend for 2012.She is in Room 5. She is year 4. She is a kind and quiet girl. I am lucky to have her as my Soul friend.

My holiday :)

“OH SNAP”! I said. That was the noise. “Dad how did this happen.” “Don’t worry just get ready “ he replied. I Walk past the hanging light bulb. I wasn't excited about what was happening today. It was a cold Wednesday morning.

My Dad , My Mum and I hurry in the car. We take off. We spot a sign . It read ‘Mercy Ascot hospital’. We parked the car and walked in. My mum spoke to the front desk. “Your at the wrong hospital”. She says.“oh” we replied. The kind lady hands over the directions to my Dad and off we went.

“NOW we are at the right hospital” my Mum exclaims. We rush in. We were sent to a meeting room. We all had a meeting with two nurses. She explained what's happening before and after my dad’s operation.

We take a walk to the elevator . My Mum and I say bye . Up he goes with the nurses to his operation.

I was afraid that something might go wrong. My Mum and I drove back home. We had a little snack. Back we went to the hospital . He’s going to be okay I repeat in my head.

Tennis :)

“YAY we’re first” !. I quickly slipped off my jumper. I grabbed my racket and ball. I raced to a net. I was so excited. Marcel , our instructor , was teaching us basic skills for tennis. I was so excited and so was the rest of Room 7 on this lovely Tuesday morning.

We had to find a partner. My partner was A’leina . We stood opposite each other of the net. Gently, I threw the ball and she gently hit it back. To and fro we went. Then the ball flew over my head. “A’Leina,” It was my turn. I couldn't wait.

Later on, Marcel put us in groups of eight. Well I had eight people in my group. One person stood on the opposite side and the rest stood on the other. Two people at a time had a little challenge. Who ever wins gets to be King / Queen on the other opposite side. There were four winners. I was one of them. I was THRILLED and proud.

I did not notice the time. It went so quickly. Our lesson was over. We kindly said thank-you and walked back to class. I did not want to stop. This was fun for me. It was a great new experience. I had a wonderful time. I can’t wait for next week .
